I appreciate my time served in the military. It has prepared me for life in a variety of ways. From the very beginning you are taught to deal with adversity. You must learn a new way of life while living in close quarters with a new group of people. It teaches you how to take charge of a situation. I learned to lead by example and that you shouldn't ask anyone to do anything that you haven't done or are willing to do yourself.
